Non-ferrous metals<\/span><\/h2>\n

Due to their extensive use, non-ferrous\u00a0scrap metals\u00a0are usually\u00a0recycled. The secondary materials in scrap are vital to the metallurgy industry, as the production of new metals often needs them. Non-ferrous scrap metals are sourced from industrial scrap materials, particle emissions and obsolete technology (for example,\u00a0copper cables) scrap.<\/sup><\/p>\n

Non-ferrous metals are used because of desirable properties such as low weight (e.g. aluminium), higher conductivity (e.g.\u00a0copper), non-magnetic property or\u00a0resistance to corrosion\u00a0(e.g.\u00a0zinc). Some non-ferrous materials are also used in the iron and\u00a0steel industries.\u00a0<\/sup><\/p>\n

Important non-ferrous metals include aluminium, copper,\u00a0lead,\u00a0nickel,\u00a0tin,\u00a0titanium\u00a0and zinc, and alloys such as\u00a0brass.<\/p>\n
