Non-recyclable plastics
Mixed and unsorted plastics are difficult and expensive to sort. Contaminated plastic from materials such as food or organic material can also render plastic non-recyclable. Sorting, cleaning and recycling is always the first step, however where this is not possible, Wanless shreds and processes plastics waste in a thermal process to generate steam and electricity (SRF & RDF) due to the inherent calorific value of the material.
